Workshops & Learning Experiences
Learning for life
At La Pacha, we see education as a process that walks with people throughout their whole lives. We believe we never stop learning.
Every stage of life brings new questions, challenges, and opportunities to grow. Yet most formal education concentrates on the early years and sets aside much of the knowledge and skill it takes to live consciously, healthily, and sustainably.
That’s why we created our program of Workshops & Learning Experiences which is a space for young people and adults who want to broaden their knowledge, develop new capacities, and explore deeper ways of relating to themselves, to others, and to nature.
More than isolated courses or trainings, these are learning experiences that weave together theory, practice, reflection, and lived experience.
Our aim is for every participant to carry what they learn into daily life, to turn knowledge into action.
Learning for life, not just information
We live in an age where information is everywhere. We can reach thousands of books, videos, and courses from a phone. But having information isn’t the same as having knowledge, and it’s a long way from wisdom.
Experience has shown us that the deepest transformations happen when learning involves the body, the emotions, practice, and reflection.
So our experiences connect knowledge to everyday reality. We don’t only teach concepts. We create opportunities to:
- Experiment
- Practice
- Observe
- Make mistakes
- Discover new things
- Integrate our experiences
Education becomes meaningful when it changes the way we live.
Learning grounded in real life
Many people feel a need to recover capacities that let them live with more autonomy and wellbeing. There’s growing interest in producing food, understanding natural cycles, using medicinal plants, improving whole-person health, strengthening human relationships, and building sustainable projects.
Our workshops respond to these real needs. We share practical tools that help people meet today’s challenges and prepare for the future. Each experience is designed to be useful, applicable, and transformative.
Areas of learning
Our workshop content is organized around several areas that reflect La Pacha’s integral vision.
- Permaculture & Regenerative Design: Permaculture is a design methodology for creating human systems that live in harmony with natural ones. This track explores the principles of permaculture, designing sustainable spaces, regenerative food production, water management, waste management, circular economy, and the design of resilient communities. It helps us see that everything is connected, and that our choices can either strengthen or weaken the systems that sustain life.
- Regenerative Agriculture & Food Production: Food is one of our most basic needs, yet fewer people know how to produce any of their own. We offer experiences in family gardens, agroforestry, ecological production, composting, seeds, food preservation, and food sovereignty to strengthen people’s capacity to take an active part in feeding themselves.
- Natural Building & Life Trades: For thousands of years, communities built with the materials of their own territories. Much of that knowledge is now at risk of disappearing. This track teaches earth building, adobe, bahareque (wattle and daub), natural plasters, living roofs, clay ovens, basic carpentry, and bioclimatic design to help people rediscover ways of building that are more sustainable and accessible.
- Medicinal Plants & Natural Health: The relationship between people and plants has accompanied humanity from the beginning, yet much of this knowledge is being lost. Our workshops share knowledge of identifying medicinal plants, traditional preparations, medicinal gardens, preventive health, whole-person wellbeing, and a conscious relationship with nature through an intercultural approach that honors both traditional knowledge and contemporary contributions.
- Ancestral Knowledge & Consciousness: Throughout history, different cultures have developed knowledge for understanding the relationship between people, nature, and the universe. At La Pacha we open spaces to explore teachings that strengthen a conscious relationship with the earth, the elements, community, and spirit. We integrate traditional wisdom with contemporary experience. Themes include ancestral cosmovisions, relationship with the elements, ancestral medicine, medicinal plants, energy and consciousness, sound and vibration, ceremony and ritual, natural and human cycles, and spirituality applied to daily life. Our approach is intercultural, drawing out universal principles that support a more conscious, balanced life in harmony with the living systems around us.
- Community & Buen Vivir: One of the great challenges of our time is learning to live together. We live in an increasingly individualized society where many people experience isolation, social fragmentation, and difficulty building meaningful relationships. So we open spaces for conscious communication, conflict resolution, collaborative work, participatory governance, sociocracy, solidarity economy, Buen Vivir, and regenerative culture. We believe the ability to build community will be one of the most important skills for future generations.
- Regenerative Leadership: We need leaders able to meet today’s challenges from a broader, more integrative vision. This track strengthens conscious leadership, group facilitation, project design, sustainable enterprise, social innovation, change management, and human development, supporting people who can drive positive transformation in their own contexts.
A methodology based on experience
All our workshops share one educational philosophy: People learn best when they take an active part in the process.
So we combine hands-on experiences, direct observation, collaborative work, individual reflection, the exchange of knowledge, project-based learning, and contact with nature.
Learning from many cultures and forms of knowledge
La Pacha is intercultural. We recognize that there are many ways to understand the world, and that all of them can offer something valuable.
We learn from ancestral knowledge, the knowledge of rural and farming communities, scientific research, community experience, and contemporary innovation.
We don’t seek to impose a single vision, rather, we create spaces where different forms of knowledge can meet and enrich one another.
Learning for transformation
Beyond any specific content, our workshops aim to strengthen a different way of relating to life, one grounded in cooperation, responsibility, care, creativity, autonomy, and respect for living systems.
We want every participant to leave with new tools, but also with new questions and new possibilities. Because education matters most when it helps us become better people.
Who are these workshops for?
Our spaces are open to young people, adults, families, educators, entrepreneurs, organizations, institutions, and anyone interested in sustainable ways of living.
No prior experience is needed. Just a willingness to learn.
Each workshop is a chance to discover capacities that may have been lying dormant. A chance to learn something new, to share knowledge, to meet people with similar interests, to deepen your relationship with nature and to remember that education doesn’t end when we leave school. It walks with us all our lives.
